Sharpening & Servicing FAQ's

We service Clippers, Dryers, Clipper Chargers, most Clipper Batteries and Veterinary Surgical Items.

We sharpen both Dog Grooming, Salon & Hairdressing Clipper Blades, Dog Grooming Scissors, Salon Scissors, Thinning/Sculpturing Scissors, Veterinary Scissors & Utensils, Dressmaking Scissors, Kitchen, Hunting/Fishing Knives.

Before using any blade check for any nicks or broken/cracked blade teeth then make sure the blade is clean & free of any debris and lightly oil blade before using & always make sure to wipe any excess oil off with a soft cloth

After using any blades clean with a brush & Mjs Blade Wash to remove any hair or debris then lightly oil blades and store in a cool dry place.

It is important to note that these types of scissors are designed to be tighter on the pivot point as this keeps the scissor blades correctly aligned & it is crucial that these scissors are used with the CORRECT PRESSURE &/OR  “OVER-OPENED”  to avoid any blade jamming or hitting &/or damage being done(this is the most common error with these scissor jamming)NOT THE SHARPENING PROCESS if this happens do not attempt to keep using the scissor they must be then re-sharpened & re tensioned by Mjs

It is also very important to oil scissors at the pivot point with the correct scissor oil

Simply courier with your items to us at with your full name, return address, phone number  & email address(for invoicing purposes)

On completion of the sharpening &/or servicing invoices will be emailed to you for full payment & once we see the payment in our bank your items will be returned with a tracking number on the invoice

If you require a service estimate to be done then it is the customers responsibility to inform us of this

If a service estimate is required we will make contact with you by a phone call and/or we will email the service estimate to you for authorization from the client before any repairs are done.

Please note: Any service estimates Mjs give to our clients does not include any postage costs.

All services/repairs that you the client decide not to get repaired will incur a Prep Fee of $30.00+ gst and postage to return your item back to you if you require the item to be returned.

Please note: Due to the NZ Electrical Safety Standards Laws any items that you (the client)does not want repairing will be returned to you un-assembled for electrical safety purposes.

General FAQ's

We ship all our online orders by courier and endeavor to deliver within (1-3 working days Monday to Friday) for small parcels or boxes
Rural addresses please allow an extra 1-3 days.

Larger Items(L.C.L) can take approx 2-5 days.

You can find your Tracking Number on the invoice or invoices we email to you on completion of your order or service etc.

All products for purchase on the MJ’s New Zealand Limited website are for delivery within New Zealand only.

MJ’s New Zealand Limited will endeavor to ensure delivery of goods is on time but will not be liable to you for any loss or damage arising in any way from any delay in delivery. You must inform MJ’s New Zealand Limited within 48 hours if the goods are damaged in transit so that we can make a prompt claim against the delivery company and correct the problem. Please quote your order number in all correspondence.

You agree that proof of delivery supplied by our freight companies be sufficient evidence to establish that your goods have been received.

Once our freight carriers have deemed that your order either by GPS or physically has been delivered then MJS & our freight carriers relinquish any further responsibility & no Investigation will be entered into.

Any Quotation of delivery times by us are made in good faith but are estimates but shall not be bound by such quotation.

Delivery charges will be added to each order and shown as a separate item before you chose to enter your payment details and send the order to be processed. The customer is responsible for all courier delivery costs.

Products displayed on this site can be purchased using secure online MasterCard, Visa, transaction facility. Customers can be confident that all of their details are protected by the latest security mechanisms and are used only for purposes of the transaction fulfilment. When making your purchase you will be seamlessly transferred to the encrypted secure service to enter your Credit Card details for processing. MJ’s New Zealand Limited do not collect or store any credit card information.
